It’s been almost four years since I did this “Accordion to me you’re awesome” sketch for my husband.

FOUR YEARS?!?!?!

It’s funny how an idea for a piece of art will just hang out in the back of your mind until you have time to really give it the attention it needs. That’s how it’s been with this sketch. It turned into super cute cat art.

I can’t remember exactly what sparked this idea but it was so much fun to work on! As I decided to bring the sketch to final art, I really wanted to add more character to the piece. I thought about making the accordion into a character, and maybe he’s playing music all by himself just like in the original concept art, but as I sketched in Photoshop I realized it would be so much more fun to turn it into cute cat art!

I don’t know if you can tell… but one of the most fun things about this jaunty cat is his goldfish bow tie.

I want a goldfish bowtie.
