Have you gotten on the coloring books for adults party train yet? It’s totally time you did, because my latest and favoritest coloring book project for Colorful Cities just came out!
It was so hard to keep this location under wraps, guys – I was drawing fantastic Tokyo landmarks for most of last year. And then the whole coloring books for adults craze happened, and the Colorful Cities coloring books are so very perfect for us much bigger, much older kids.
This illustration of Tokyo’s classic koinobori fish streamers is one of my favorites. I can’t wait to spend a quiet evening with my markers or colored pencils filling in every intricate shape!
OK let’s be real. I’m a work at home muhmuh running a design business with two littles in the office. There’s no quiet evenings. And the ones that do exist are spent stress eating a vat of ice cream while binge watching Gilmore Girls.
But you should sit down on a quiet evening and color this, and tell me how it is. Because it sounds glorious.
This illustration of the ramen eaters is one of my favorites, too. The action and the facial expressions were so much stinkin’ fun to draw.
One thing I love about Colorful Cities is that they’ve got an online gallery showcasing artwork kids that have colored in the books have sent in. Adults, you can’t let them have all the fun – you should color up one of their books and submit your masterpiece to their Facebook page!
I’m not kidding, these travel themed coloring books are huge kid pleasers, and adults would love em, too. Check out what Phil did with his copy about three seconds after it came out of the box!
Convinced you need a coloring book for adults yet? Enter this week’s giveaway! One lucky winner (U.S. residents only) will receive a free copy of Colorful Tokyo, and I’ll even sign it especially for you!
Just please, don’t ask me to make it out to Ebay.
