Community Art Project – NASCAR Quaker 400 Coloring Canvas
Last weekend was so much dang fun! Visit Henry County had me come out and man the yearly community art project we create for NASCAR’s Quaker 400 race weekend.
This is the third year working with Visit Henry County and Atlanta Motor Speedway on a coloring canvas. It gets set up on a huge table in the Fan Zone, and all of the folks walking by have an opportunity to contribute their favorite colors.
One of my favorite things about this project is how much life the pieces have as each day progresses!
Here’s how the community art project turned out on Saturday, September 7, 20204:

They both just have so much life to them! Participating in guiding our community in getting really into these pieces quickly became one of my favorite things ever, and I can’t wait to be back to facilitate 2025’s coloring canvas at the Quaker 400.
If you fell in love with the coloring canvas supplies we used, they’re called Tempera Sticks and I love them! They color like crayons, but they lay down way more big juicy color because they’re a solid tempera paint. Super clean and easy to use, and they’re one of my favorite art supplies to use with younger artists. You can grab a set on Amazon here (and you’re supporting me as an artist by purchasing through this link).
Thanks so much to Visit Henry County and Atlanta Motor Speedway for this project, y’all are the best!
