Cute Animal Typography Series

I worked on a new series of animal typography this week, and I just wanted to show you guys because they’re the cutest thing ever!

I was playing with the idea of what animals with really long necks (or bodies, in the case of our boa constrictor friend) would do if they had Plastic Man style powers.

I drew this giraffe saying hello as a really quick one off in my sketchbook ages ago – it’s funny how long things will roll around in the back of your head until they come out as finalized artwork!

I would love to see this giraffe fleshed out as a cute home decor group for kids using those leaves and stripes patterns as coordinates.

Animal Cursive Greeting Card Series - I Love You snake by Steph Calvert

This one is the most hilarious of the bunch, and it kind of came from the need to fill negative space! As I drew this snake in my sketchbook, I loved the way the I love you script looked, but there was just so much space in between lines… So I gave him a huge belly to make it look like he just ate.

And it quickly went downhill from there.

This would be the cutest gift for that special someone – grab your print here!

And this stork – I kind of want to say it’s my favorite. But I love love love the other ones, too – I just really had fun playing with drawing little bits and pieces of pattern all over the bird. Can’t you see it as a super cute baby shower card?
