Home Decor Collection – Farm Fresh Fun

Farm Fresh Fun is the first home decor collection I created, and it’s super special to me. I was at a turning point in my career where I craved less web design and more hand-drawn illustration, and I was learning more about how to create art collections through Lilla Rogers’ Make Art That Sells courses. Inspired by our own homestead just outside of Savannah at the time, this group features botanicals and animals, namely chickens, that lived alongside us.
I had a huge blast coming up with repeat patterns that were all hand-drawn and hand-painted for surface design, in a rustic but fresh farm life color palette that just feels right next to other farm-style home decor collections.
These coordinating graphics are hand-painted, and feature super fun playful tossed elements and adorable chickens. Wouldn’t they make great tea towels or wall hangings? You can fake an expensive pieced-together look by printing one towel with both the artwork and the coordinating repeat pattern below it, and then stitching a ribbon across the “seam”. I really want to see these created for real someday!
It was really fun imagining different categories of products with this home decor collection! These are some ideas I had for metal. How fun would these big metal chickens on garden stakes be peeking out from the garden? I would love to see them with 3D texturing on the hand-painted patterns of the metal, with the wings attached as a separate piece to give it a little motion. A set of tin cans with cute repeat patterns and chalk areas for labels would be a no brainer as a gift for gardeners, and ooo I dig those little metal wall hooks in the upper right corner!
Love this home decor collection?
If you’ve got your own small business and would like an easy way to brand your shop quickly, owning the full rights to a suite of original repeat patterns is a great way to do it. This group can also spark an idea for a new project, and I would love to be the artist to work with you on it.
These repeat patterns are currently available for art licensing or full rights buyouts in all categories. I have a pdf available showcasing all the patterns and colorways ready to go. You can reach out to me on the contact page if you’d like to see it.
Work in merchandising, product development or other surface design areas and interested in seeing my full portfolio? I have a full catalog available on Artonomo.
