How to do Carpet Cleaning

So let’s say you’ve lived somewhere for three years and have really nasty carpets and you’re wondering how to do carpet cleaning.

A few weeks ago, I was wondering how to do carpet cleaning. I was planning on having some blogging friends over for a party and my floors were… less than presentable.

I had never cleaned carpets before. And I didn’t want to have to wrangle the big ol’ rental unit from the grocery store, figure out how to run it, try to clean my carpets well on the first try, AND keep the little boy and dogs from freaking out over the noise all at the same time. So I hired a professional to do our carpet cleaning!

How to do Carpet Cleaning - Just Hire a Professional!

I found Peter Tudosio from Peter’s Quality Carpet Serviceย on Yelp. I wanted to hire someone that was working for a local Long Beach indie business, and I couldn’t have asked for better results. His Yelp reviews are mostly perfect (you can’t please everyone all the time) and there’s a reason for it.

Peter works with a special compound that isn’t soap based, meaning no residue is left over in your carpet. There’s no harsh chemicals; it’s essentially a saline solution and water that he’s cleaning your carpets with. It sounds like it wouldn’t work, but you have no idea how well it DOES work!

Like I mentioned above – we’ve been living in our house for about 3 years now, and the carpets looked… um… scary. By the time Peter shared all his rad jokes with me (he’s a comedy writer as well), the carpets looked like new. Peterย understands today’s rough economy, and is currently pricing his services to reflect that.

And that my friends is how to do carpet cleaning. I am looking forward to working with Peter Tudosio again in the near future, but am also hoping his latest writing project takes off so he doesn’t have to clean carpets anymore.

Your turn – what’s the best business you’ve found via Yelp reviews?

  1. Funny enough…CARPET CLEANING! I use a local guy too!!
I’m a total Yelper! I always give good reviews of all the places I haunt…you know, the donut shop, the burger joint, the car repair place!

  2. Steam cleaning carpets or rugs is a must! Especially since I have two cats, a dog and a toddler. I move sofas and chairs slightly to put the legs of furniture on wax paper. Thus the carpet and the furniture are protected. I also open the windows to quicken the drying process. I also shake my welcome mats really good and clean them so people donโ€™t track pollen and other allergens inside. But itโ€™s amazing how dirty the flat can get!

  4. Itโ€™s a great post & tips which are given in this post are really beneficial for carpet cleaning. It is interesting for me to learn a little bit about carpet cleaning. I think that it is important to keep your rug clean. That way there are less allergens in the air.
