Fancy Coffee Friday – Iced Coffee Recipe

Lately it seems like I’ve been bailing on Fancy Coffee Friday.

Bailing isn’t the right word – putting it on the back burner just a tiny bit is totally correct, though. It’s been such a long standing tradition (over five years now!), that I sometimes have to re-evaluate how to keep it going. Up until recently, I was getting up at 5:30am on Fridays to get the kids together and take them to Baibry’s in Rincon with Kim and Missy. Then Baibry’s closed, and we shimmied up the road to Debbie’s on 4th for our weekly get togethers… But it just wasn’t the same.

Phil’s standard Fancy Coffee Friday fare was always chocolate muffins, and I have to recognize that the place in town with really good ones is gone.

Plus, getting up at 5:30am is awful. Even if Fancy Coffee Friday is on the other side of that alarm clock.

So I had to change things up a bit. My family pushed coffee back an hour, and we’ve been trying to go to Dunkin Donuts around 8am.

But really, that hasn’t been happening either. The office has been going through some changes lately, and staying on top of that has meant skipping Friday coffee more times than I’d like. The upside? I tried making iced coffee this morning and it was muy delicioso. Try it out the next hot summer day that requires a caffeine fix!
