Summer of Art Inspiration Part 2: Florals and Dishes
If you’re wondering why I’m splitting up my art inspiration into chunks this time, it’s because I took so many pictures! This way things are a little more organized… Here’s some great vintage thrift store art reference for florals, and how they’re used with ceramics and dishes for home decor.
Simple tonal floral – just a few brush strokes and it’s clear, but still fun and playful.
Here’s a great example of more sculpted ceramic flowers… I’m curious what this vintage piece is used for – napkin holder I’m guessing. But then what’s that hole for in the middle of the flower?
Simple design given some depth thanks to a sponging technique with the glaze on this ceramic pitcher.
Great example of how to switch designs up a bit for smaller salad plates so they still go with their coordinating dinner plates, but with more variety so they stay interesting.
I’m sorry but I really love the idea of a huge watermelon slice plate. I think the spongey technique plus dusty color palette looks a little too country for me, but with the right technique this is so super cute.
Tiptoe through the tulips. No seriously. If you run you’ll break this cute ceramic watering can. Because if you’re a klutz like me you’ll trip on your own feel and fall over.
Cute simple line drawing of wine and cheese – I’m on the fence with whether I’m into how bare the rest of the plate is.
You can’t ever go wrong with vintage Pyrex.
Ever.
This art style and color palette is so very 70s. Digging the script font on La Marjolaine – what does that mean by the way?
Cute graphic floral on another piece of vintage Pyrex.
Here’s a question for you – is all of this style stuff Pyrex? Or are there different brands that all look similar, but we call all of it Pyrex because that’s the most well known brand? Like is this a Kleenex situation?
I love the handwriting on this candle holder. Because it’s kinda messy like mine.
