Unlikely Nursery Rhymes and Lullabies

Last week, Aaryn had posted something on her Facebook about how her husband (from England) had never heard the song “The Humpty Dance“. And I had to admit that, strangely enough… I sing that song to Phil.

He has a nursery rhymes cd that we listen to a lot, and for whatever reason, when the Humpty Dumpty song ends I pick it right back up with “The Humpty Daaaaance, is your chaaaaaance”. And it goes on from there.

While the magic cure-all for Phil is a few runs through “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”, he goes to sleep most nights listening to a mix cd of old Marty Robbins songs. I also do a nice lullaby version of “Kiss Me Deadly” when we’re driving aloneย in the car.

What are some unlikely kids tunes you’ve found tame the wild beasts?
