Today’s Peek in the Illustration Studio

You might not think the fireplace grate was necessary, but to me its little face with big ol’ unibrow is essential. This painting is far from perfect but listen, that’s just how it is – put your work out there, be thankful for what that project taught you, and move on to the next thing. Totally done with this gouache painting, and totally grateful to Kim Larson for helping me start my Early Morning Arty Party. I can’t wait for you to see what I’m gonna work on next, it’s gonna be amazing. And also pizza.

Steph Calvert has expertise as a children’s book illustrator. She is an expert surface pattern designer for art licensing and creates line drawings for publishing and product design. Steph has years of additional expertise as a mural artist, creating original art, and logo design for small businesses. She is currently querying literary agents with her first author/illustrator book projects.
