Girl’s World, Studio Spaces and Everything Flowers

Let’s check out some more great new titles from Chronicle Books!

I’m not the girliest girl in the world, but I was totally digging Girl’s World. So many cute projects from Jennifer Paganelli, creator of Sis Boom Fabrics!

The photography throughout the book is super inviting and happy… it just kind of sucks you in.

And projects like George the Puppy on page 137, made me totally swoon from the cuteness. Patterns for the projects are included with the book, and are packaged in a nice neat pink envelope inside the front cover. Girl’s World. I’m there.

Now let’s take a step back from the cotton candy pink – Open Studios with Lotta Jansdotter takes a trip around the world visiting the spaces where creative types work their magic. The book is separated into three regions – Brooklyn, Stockholm and Tokyo, with little tastes of the studio spaces belonging to folks like Pamela Sunday, Sesame Letterpress, Homspun and tons more. It’s neat to see the well-organized spaces and the more chaotic ones… My personal creative space is somewhere in between. I’ll show you pics someday!

Everything Flowers by Clare Rojas was a really interesting book to look through. Clare has this really simple graphic style that feels a little bit folksy maybe? I’m a terrible art critic and art history is not my strong suit. So maybe folksy isn’t the word. I love her graphic simple shapes, and the repeat patterns incorporated into some of her pieces.

This bunny looks kinda scary, and I kinda like that.

Which of these was your favorite today? Who’s got a link to a photo of their own creative space? Don’t forget to leave some commenty love, you’ll be automatically entered to win one of these great selections from Chronicle Books – click here for all of the details of this week’s giveaway!

  1. That Girl’s World book looks Fan-cy. I think If I were to write a book about my kids clothes it’d be called “Obnoxious Girl’s World.” I could also be featured in a book called “Cramped Studios” and “Everything Weed.” And this is why I don’t have a book deal.

  2. Mmmm… pot brownies. You know what would be better? If this were the post that won me one of those books.

  3. AHHAHAHAHAHAHAH KB you’re cracking me up with your comments! It’s looking like Girl’s World is going to be the most-coveted prize this week…

  4. Open studios sounds like a great book. I am lucky enough to have a professional jewelry studio to use by taking an independent study class through the college i work at each semester. I do want to create a studio at my home one day.

  5. I would love to get Girls world to make something fancy for my girl. I even have some JP fabric!
