Corn Hole Tournament for Oklahoma this Weekend!

When tornadoes hit Oklahoma recently, Living Faith Church in Guyton, GA took action. The local church is putting together a family friendly corn hole tournament for Saturday, July 20, 2013 with almost all of the days proceeds benefitting the tornado victims. Event organizer Crystal Basdeo spoke from the heart when asked why she felt the need to get involved:

โ€œIt hits close to home. Iโ€™ve been that parent that had less than 5 minutes to get 4 kids downstairs beforeย a tornado hit in Kansas City, Mo. My heart hurts for everyone who lost everything that they once knew in such a short period of time.โ€

For those unfamiliar with corn hole, itโ€™s a popular bean bag toss game. The teams will compete in a bracket system for the best scores, with the winning team on July 20 bringing home a cash prize.

Teams of two can register the day of the event for $25. Registration begins at 8am on July 20, with games beginning at 9am. The event will run all day long, ending when the winners of the corn hole tournament have been announced.

This family friendly event has a little something for everyone. Along with corn hole games throughout the day for both adults and children, the Help Make it OK corn hole fundraiser will have bounce houses, carnival games, a dunk a pastor booth, raffle prizes, food, and t-shirt sales. ย Outside of the cash prize for best team, all other money raised will be donated to Oklahoma relief efforts.

The exciting thing about this event is how much itโ€™s about the community coming together to help others. Almost everything weโ€™ve needed for this event to take place has been donated by our own church community and supportive local businesses!

A full list of local businesses that have donated goods and services to the Help Make it OK corn hole fundraiser can be found online at http://www.livingfaithchurch.tv. Donations have come from all over the community in the form of goods and services for raffle prizes, food to sell, and both a mobile screen printing unit and the blank shirts to print on. Visitors will even be able to print the commemorative artwork on items of their own choosing, like their own t-shirt from home, a hoodie or a blanket!
