Evernote for Project Management

I just got finished having a dinner / nerd session with my buddy Kim Larson – she came over to show me how to use Evernote for project management.

Total nerd alert, guys.

Evernote for Project Management - Hearts and Laserbeams

It was interesting doing a test drive with Kim, tonight – my one big issue with project management as a whole is that I don’t want the organizing of what I’m working on to take longer than the web design projects, you know? Evernote seems like it’s going to be able to streamline some things that were clunky when I tried organizing with Google Drive in the past.

I like that it’s right there on my computer’s hard drive, instead of an external website I have to remember to log in to. But it’s still totally connected through Chrome extensions and phone apps. But being able to just have it up and running alongside my other all day long programs on my machine, I know that’s going to be helpful in terms of me remembering to actually use it.

The funny thing is Kim’s been tooting the Evernote horn like nonstop for as long as I’ve known her. She’s the poster child for Evernote. She is their biggest fan. But I never got on board until she bought me a subscription for my birthday, came over, and sat down and showed me how it works.

Sometimes we’re all just going, going, going, trying to get through the work day, and it feels like it’s impossible to stop everything and learn something new.

The next time you think you might need to pick up a new trick for your business, do what we did. Make it an appointment that you have to keep. Do it after work hours if necessary. I mean, ours was a totally fun work appointment – we had dinner and laughs with Phil and Joy while we chatted about project management, but by the end of it, I had a great new tool to make my biz run smoother.

What’s your favorite Evernote feature?

I know I’m in love with the fact that I’ll be able record quick audio snippets for my team to listen to, but I’m curious to know what you like best!
