Fund Projects: Oh Sully Kickstarter Project

We all know how hard it is to fund projects as a small indie business.

It’s great that Kickstarter came along to make it easier to fund projects. Not only can you reach your close-knit support base of family and friends, but you can contact a broader range of individuals that might be interested in supporting what you’re doing.

Fund Projects: Oh Sully Children's Book Kickstarter Project

I was emailed this week with a link to a great children’s book Kickstarter project, and I’m excited to share it with you! Oh Sully is a story by Long Beach’s own Kevin Gard. It’s about a whale learning to appreciate his role in life, and the illustrations are all created using sewn pieces of fabric. Check out this great video about Kevin’s book:

Kevin is trying to raise $15,500 by Wednesday, June 11, and he’d absolutely love your help! Funding his project will provide the money needed to get his book published, set up a website with e-commerce to sell it online. It’ll allow Kevin to launch the book in art galleries as well, and this fibers artist intends to give back to the community that funds his project – a portion of the sales of his book will go to the Surfrider Foundation as a way of saying thank you to the ocean that has inspired his story.
Think about setting aside a few bucks to fund indie projects, but don’t think too long!
Click here to donate to Kevin’s Kickstarter campaign before July 11.
