Meet Courtney, also known as beauty blogger Phyrra from www.Phyrra.net. Courtney is an award-winning cruelty-free beauty blogger and social media strategist. Sheโs addicted to her Kindle Fire and devours science-fiction, horror and fantasy books. Sheโs nearly inseparable from her cherished standard poodle, Phaedra.
Courtney is a hair fanatic, constantly looking for ways to extend her hair color, which includes using dry shampoo. She shares:
“I recommend Batiste dry shampoo, and if you’re using dry shampoo the right way it doesn’t lighten your hair.”
- First, you need to spray Batiste in your hair at the roots, and work towards the ends if the rest of your hair is oily.
- Wait a few minutes because it will absorb the oil on the strands.
- Then gently rub your scalp while the Batiste is on it.
- Then use a natural bristle brush to brush the Batiste out of your hair.
- While your hair WILL be lighter while the Batiste is on your hair, after you brush it out it will not be lighter.
Voila! Cleaner hair!

Before you dye your hair, always wash with a clarifying shampoo to remove any buildup that’s in your hair.
If you’re going to lighten your hair, after you rinse out the bleach, you will need to use the clarifying shampoo again and then condition your hair.
