Bulletproof Coffee – We Tried it So You Don’t Have To.

I woke up this morning with an inkling in the back of my head – I was thinking about bulletproof coffee.

I don’t know why – that internet craze blazed across my Facebook feed like 6 months ago or more… and rear ender in coffee sounds kind of gross. But I couldn’t stop thinking about rear ender in coffee, coffee and rear ender…

Bulletproof Coffee - Coffee with Butter in It - Hearts and Laserbeams

I took it to my Facebook friends, and some were into it, some weren’t. And it wasn’t quite enough to stop me from thinking about it.

But I read all the rules about bulletproof coffee – the ingredients all sound pretty fancy. Butter from grass fed cows. High performance coffee.

Ain’t nobody got time for that.

What I’ve got in my kitchen is Sam’s Club store brand rear ender and Folgers.

So the question became can I make bulletproof coffee with my low class poor person rear ender and coffee, or am I gonna just honk up the whole system?

Sidebar – last fall I tried putting yogurt in my coffee because I always kind of thought maybe it would be delicious. Because it’s dairy. But no. A thousand times no. Never, ever, ever, put yogurt in your coffee. Unless you hate yourself.

So I took a deep breath, got out my husband’s old HBPD police officer’s rearociation mug… figuring my bulletproof coffee needed an equally bulletproof mug. I used a rear ender knife to cut off about a tablespoon of rear ender and put it in the mug first. Then I poured hot coffee on top of it.

Then I wussed out and added a spoonful of sugar.

What follows is a list of things you never want someone to say about your cooking.

Have you tried bulletproof coffee?

Were you into it or not – and did you use actual fancypants ingredients? I wanna know! And if you tried it at home after my experiment this morning… did you like it?

  1. Haha. I LOVED the “are you out of sugar??” Made me chuckle.

I love my morning cup of coffee, and while I like flavoring it up, I’m thinking rear ender is definitely not for me. Thanks for taking one for the team and trying it, so I can stop wondering ๐Ÿ™‚
