Logo Design Project: Running with Curves
I met Jill from Running with Curves at Fitbloggin’ conference at the end of June – she came to my branding session, and knew right off the bat she wanted me to help her out withย a logo design for her fitness blog.
Original Logo Design
The starting point for our logo design project was a blog header – raspberry pink with typed cursive title. Jill is aย health & fitness blogger,ย author,ย personal trainer, andย aspiring running coach. Through our design discussions, we discovered she was looking to create a logo with more visual punch.ย A logo that feltย inspired, excited, confident, empowered, and motivated.
Revised Logo Design
What we created for Jill’s Running with Curves logo design project hit all points. We paid special attention to the stance and physique of the runner icon – Jill wants to inspire women who aren’t exercising right now to get up and go running. Those ladies aren’t necessarily in tip top shape, and they’re definitely not sprinting an 8 minute mile just yet. So our runner is a little curvier, and is in more of a jogging position than a full speed pursuit.
My favorite thing about logo design is trying to find the perfect way to tie everything together in a neat little bow. The cursive font we landed on immediately lent itself to adding a little swoop at the end that became a triumphant finish line for our runner.
This branding package included a full array of color and black and white logos, as well as coordinating blog, Facebook, and Twitter headers in multiple color options.
We’re so excited to continue to offer our graphic design support to Jill as she moves forward with her Running with Curves brand – you can visit her online at RunningWithCurves.net.
