Read On the Internet: Fun Finds From Friends For Friday

Ok, so it’s Thursday not Friday – that doesn’t mean you can’t check out these links I read on the internet a day early!

Also, alliteration is awesome.

Gustavo Arellano’s Commencement Speech to Long Beach City College

I read Gustavo Arellano‘s commencement speech to this year’s graduating class at Long Beach City College early this morning. Phil was asleep, and I had a few minutes to tinker on my phone before work. It’s a good one, guys. (And I got a chance to see Maya Angelou speak at the Savannah College of Art and Design graduation when my friend Trav got his degree in Illustration, so I’ve heard good commencement speeches!) Gustavo hits on some great points about school and getting through it, and gives up a great line at the end: “Times are tough–but so are you.”

I really, really like that.

Trav Falligant’s Coloring Book Page of Claire from Breakfast Club

Speaking of my friend Trav Falligant, he posted a brand new Breakfast Club coloring book page to his Tumblr this week and IT. IS. AWESOME. It’s less something you read on the internet, and more something you print and color. Save this for your Friday afternoon when you’re counting down the minutes til your long holiday weekend!

Click here to get the full-size art for your printing and coloring pleasure!

You really should check out Trav Falligant on Etsy as well – we have his painting of John Waters hanging in our bedroom, and really want to pick up a print of Rodney Dangerfield from Back to School next.

ย Nook and Sea’s DIY Mason Jar Terrarium Project

I love the laid-back easy feeling I get when I read Kristina’s Nook and Sea blog, and reading how ridiculously easy it was for her to make this super cute terrarium makes me want to stop work immediately, get off the internet, go get a jar outta the cupboard, and do this project!

I also loved reading that I won her most recent giveaway – see guys? I’m not a loser after all!

Click here to read how to make this cute terrarium!

Happy holiday weekending – who’s got big Memorial Day plans to share? What interesting stuff have you read on the internet this week?
